Arch is inviting Bedlington residents to hear about the good progress with its development plans for Bedlington Town Centre.

With planning permission now secured, an exciting new retail led scheme is taking shape that will transform the town centre creating exciting new places to visit, live and shop.

To keep local residents and businesses appraised of progress and to hear the latest updates on timescales, design and securing retailer interest, we have arranged a drop in session.

This will be held on Thursday 28th September 3pm-7pm) at the Bedlington Community Centre, 60 W End Front St, Bedlington, NE22 5UB

Representatives of Arch will be on hand to discuss the latest developments and answer any questions you may have.

Opportunities for suppliers and services to the construction industry

Arch appointed Morpeth based contractor NB Clark to bring forward the development, of 18 new, high quality (and affordable) two bedroom apartments (to rent targeted at the over 55s market) on the Old School Site in Bedlington. NB Clark has commenced works to construct the 18 new, high quality two bedroom apartments. There are opportunities for trade’s people with varying backgrounds to register their interest in areas of work including:

  • Roofing
  • Bricklaying
  • Window and door supplies
  • Steel fixings
  • Scaffolding
  • Screeding
  • Plastering/partitioning
  • Floor coverings
  • Decorating

An opportunity to ‘Meet the Buyer’ and register your details on a supplier database will take place on:

Wednesday 5th April 2017, at 5pm (The event will finish at approx 7:00pm).

This event will provide an opportunity for any trades people to register their availability. After initial introductions and an overview of the project, there will be an opportunity to talk to NB Clark and Arch to register your details.

Meet the Buyer Events

Arch Business and Arch Commercial are hosting a number of Meet the Buyer events this year. Arch’s Estate is now worth over £280m and they are looking for more people working in a number of trades to help them maintain their estate.An overview of the opportunities will be provided and practical support will be on hand to help you complete the registration process and become a member of our qualified supplier list.

Meet the Buyer Event

Works to construct 18 new, high quality and affordable two bedroom apartments to rent targeted at the over 55s market, will commence on Monday 20th March.  NB Clark will be completing the project on behalf of Arch.  We will be looking for a number of trades to support the completion and an event will be held to provide an opportunity for any trades people to register their availability. Dates and details for this event will be released in the next few weeks.

Public Consultation - Tuesday 6th December 2016

We are pleased to invite you to a public consultation presenting the exciting new plans for the former Tesco site in Bedlington Town Centre.

These plans could include:

  • a supermarket
  • other retail/commercial units with residential properties or offices above
  • a family pub/restaurant
  • new and replacement customer car parking 
  • pedestrian routes and other landscaping

You are invited to view, discuss and comment on the initial plans.
